Non-Profits We Love
Founded in 2008, Oakland Trybe is a non-profit in the Eastlake/San Antonio/Fruitvale area of Oakland serving school-aged youth and young adults. Trybe brings youth together to do good work through math clubs, after-school clubs, basketball teams, block parties, community-service activities, and large seasonal events. Many Trybe youth serve as mentors through Trybe's Cascading Mentorship Program, walking with their peers through life's stages and struggles.
HKATW - Helping Kids Around The World is a San Diego based non-profit organization aimed at helping children in at-risk areas around the world affected by war, and poverty. They aim to provide all the necessary tools and guidance that children need to grow, teach them how to avoid corruption, and maintain high self-esteem for themselves by giving children basic academic education and a specialized training in various fields such as building job skills and career readiness. Currently HKATW is working in San Diego and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Bridge of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families through transition. Transition can mean many things; recovery from a drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence, illness, loss of a job, divorce, struggling single parents, widowhood as well as refugees coming to America.
Lending a helping hand through a difficult time can be a significant turning point in one’s life. Bridge of Hope was established to come along side those in transition, to support them through spiritual and practical means so that they have an opportunity to be successful.
